Darryl H congrats on coming back to the fold of Fender amps and joining the forum...one thing though...we need pics of your new amp! It is an unwritten rule around here, pics or it didn't happen :)

Retroverbial...you must be slipping, you let the new guy get by without pics...could this be a bias for Deluxe Reverbs showing through those luddite tendancies?

How do you post pics? I looked everywhere I could think of for instructions. I'm guessing it has something to do with the "Img" button at the top when writing a post.

You have to get a photobucket account first. It is free, go to photobucket.com, once you upload your pictures to photobucket, you can click on the picture and then click on get IMG code and then copy and paste that into your post and wala your pics will show up. It does seem hard until you figure it out, then it is like this is sooo easy...here is a shot to get you going...

That's an awesome amp collection T2Stratman! Wow!

Thanks for the instructions on posting photos. I would've never figured that out.

Alright, I'm going to go sign up for photobucket and then find my camera to take some pics of my stuff. Should have them up on here by afternoon tomorrow.

Alright, here's some pics. (Hope this works):

The amp is, of course, my new DRRI. You can see my tubescreamer sitting on top of it. The Strats are both Clapton Signature models. The black one is a 1997 that originally had lace sensors in it but I hated them, hence the vintage noiseless. The green one is a 2008. The acoustic is a Martin 000-16RGTE Aura (it's an absolutely fabulous acoustic - plays and sounds fantastic).

Nice set of gear, Darryl!

As an aside, I have that same hardwood-laminate flooring in my home. Good choice of color.

Thanks Arjay! Floor isn't laminate - it's real hardwood. It was a pain in the ... to install. Had to rent a special nail gun that shoots the nails in on angles. It really wasn't too bad until you got tight to the walls. I don't often cuss, but there were some pretty heavy words coming from my mouth while installing that stuff. If I had to do it again, I think I'd go with laminate. Much easier to install.

Have fun sanding when it's time to do a "re-fin".

Thanks DH, but my collection is miniscule compared to Retroverbials. He and Rebel Soul, have some beautiful vintage amps that are EXTREMELY Clean too!

Glad to help, I struggled for a while trying to figure it out...and said a couple of WTFs myself when trying to figure it out.

Nice set of guitars there, and one fine Deluxe Reverb. I to have a EC Strat amoung others, and it is my Desert Island Can Only Have One Guitar, guitar!

Here they are...and the EC Model I won in a contest and is autographed by the man himself!

Great News! Now you can head to the finish line on that puppy! I ran into a Bantam Bassman this past weekend that was in great condition, and still had the trapezoid yamaha speaker in it...thought it might fit for a head project? Am negotiating on the price...will keep you posted.

Sorry for hijacking this one for a bit.

The Bantam Bass shares its chassis dimensions with the Super Reverb -- ergo, any head cab of that size will accommodate the Bantam Bass. The pre-amp is similar in layout to the later Bassman Ten but the output stage has been "de-tuned" to provide approximately thirty watts to the speaker jacks. If you swap the output tranny for a Bandmaster Reverb equivalent you'll end up with a 40-watt screamer that will mate well to your 2 x 12 Bassman Cab.

I agree about the EC Strats. I love both of mine. It's very versatile. We play a pretty wide variety of stuff - everything from classic country to chicago blues to classic rock, and I find that I can cover all those styles with the EC Strat. It's very possible to get a really convincing humbucker sound out of one too.

My current quest is for a new OD pedal. I like my tube screamer but would like to find something to get a little dirtier. I'm strongly thinking about the Fulltone Plimsoul. It's a bit pricey though. I suppose more often than not, you get what you pay for.

-Darryl

P.S. By the way, I love the Les Paul double cut. Awesome guitar!

Is my deluxe reverb the only one made with a blue colored jewel power bezel? What gives? i feel outcast now..Anyway, I absoutly looove my drrl but, i doubt that i have more than 10 hours playing time on it since new... i been using my vibro champ amp mostly in here...(i do not gig or anything) But, it is nice to remove the cover and fire it up now and then.

You can change that pilot lamp jewel to pretty much any color you want -- Fender has a complete palette of primary and secondary colors available.
