Im looking for a new amp that would be good for that Strat blues sound and a good sound for my LP. My blues Jr just doesnt seem to cut it for my LP. Any suggestions would be nice.

My Blues amp of choice:

http://www.fender.com/products/hotrod/m ... dNo=223220

Works great with single coil or humbucker. Put a NOS 12AY7 in V1 and replace the remaining tubes with something better than the Groove Tubes that come with it (I use a JJ 12AX7 in V2, a balanced JJ 12AX7 for the phase inverter, and JJ 6L6GCs with the bias set toward the hot side) and get a great blues tone. Takes pedals well also (I use a Fulltone Full-Drive 2M). I also replaced the stock speaker with an Eminence Cannabis Rex.

As I've a BDLx RI, I just can say that is is a good choice. Just make sure that when you connect your LP there is not too much bass on clean configuration. What I've done now is: I use the drive configuration that is a little bright than the clean configuration for humbuckers (that have more bass than 7ender singles). 8)

Dumped my HRDlx for the Rebel. I got tired of lugging my HRDlx to the shop.

Did you have a signed receipt when you sold it?

Yep, I sold it with seven months let on the warranty. Good amp Karma for me. I also disclosed all the problems I had with it. I'm glad I did. He told me he had a problem with it a couple months later. He wasn't mad. That amp must be cursed.

The DRRi sounds great w/LPs & Strats. You'd need a stomp box for some dirt though.

The Blues Jr always sounded boxy to me regardless of what guitar you plugged into it. Put a nice extension cab on it and it's a totally different beast. The cab is way too small for the speaker that's in it. There's no "breathing room" for great tone. People mod the snot out of these things when all they really need is an extension cab for the tone to really sing. I do agree that a DRR or DRRI would be a better fit. Mt Egnater is great no matter what I plug into it.
