Yeah I know. When a piece of gear pisses in my shoes, I never let up. I hope you don't read photography lighting forums. It's worse because I actually make my living with that gear. I had a Speedotron lighting system fail, throw 900 volts through a flash tube which made it explode and catch fire and nearly burn and cut a client. I have serious reasons for what I do. :? I never complain about a great pieces of gear like my Twin, Vibrolux Reverb, Bandmaster, Sunn Scepter. Back then I made a survivable living with that gear.

Exactly, 63. If this was recording forum, I'd be warning everybody, all the time, non-stop about what crap most Mackie gear is, and how it's poorly engineered for noise rejection and how the filter caps in the power supplies are junk and die too young, causing godawful amounts of voltage to leak back into the signal.

Every single time somebody said "I'm thinking of buying a mixer/interface/headphone amp, should I get a Mackie?" I'd be there to say, "Sure, if like ground noise you'll LOVE a Mackie." (I just threw a Mackie headphone distro amp in a dumpster: repairing it wasn't even feasible.) This is the same reason I try to warn people off the Blues Junior: I owned one, it sucked, I spent a lot of time and money trying to make it NOT suck, and it still did. I sold it to some guy who thought everything he read online had to be true. I even warned him that I didn't think it sounded very good, but he was sure I just wasn't using it right.

So I get it now. If you buy Fender gear and it disappoints you mightily, you can't say so on this forum, because that will make you a "hater" and liar. On the other hand, if you buy someone else's stuff and love it, you can't say that either because that makes you a paid Quisling and a "spammer."

So, your choice here is to buy only Fender gear, and tell everyone how much you love it even if it sucks. WHich of course it can't, because it's made by Fender. (Boy, that was close... I almost became a lying, hatin', Quisling spammer, there.)

Well, now I wouldn't go THAT far....

A funny story, though. A guy who is well known in the online audio community who goes by the single name Fletcher (the owner of Mercenary Audio in Boston) got himself and his company thrown out of the NAMM show one year by refusing to remove a display they had set up at the front of their booth....

A Mackie 8-bus mixer and an ADAT recorder, impaled on a big steel rod, with a sign on it that read: "$@!& On A Stick."

Het 63 Supro

You and I gotta talk shop some day.

I have a pair of 1990's Novatron mono-lights with built in slaves that need a new home.

I bought them new in the 90's when I thought I was a great Photographer LOL !!!!

Blues Bondsman, I had a three head Novatron pack and head system and sold it for the Speedotron.
I'd take you up on it but I'm riding on a ton of lighting gear. I have a four head Speedotron Blackline system, six Paul Buff Alien Bee Monolights, and five old White Lightning Ultra 1800 900 watt second units. I used to shoot exclusively large format product and portrait photography on low speed emulsion film and needed all that power for a decent F stop. Sometimes I had to shoot at F45-64. I also have a full operational darkroom with a Saunders 4x5 LPL Dichro Head Enlarger and a Huge Bessler Dichro Head enlarger with the motor driven carriage of which I can't remember the model number, An 8 foot plywood sink that I built, A Jobo Processor for printing to 20x24, a small Jobo processor for film and a Durst roller transport print processor. I used to have a huge Ilford Roller Transport processor but I got tired of repairing it. Email me anytime, I love talking shop. My studio is in a large garage and I have 15 foot ceilings close to 1,000 sq/ft of shooting space plus an additional 600 sq/ft of office space. It's not a bad setup. I don't do weddings, so I don't have to dress it up much.

I still have my Mamiya 645 Pro with the grip that churns out an amazing one frame a second and my Mamiya RB 67. I still use the for personal work. I actually shot a commercial catalog jib with Yashisca Mat 124. If my client knew I was using that, he would have sued me. I did it in the late 80's and charged them $5,500  I had to tape color correction filters over the taking lens.

I asked you a question once, why would you buy a Blues Jr since you are a professional? The same can be asked of Supro. Most guys would buy a Twin Reverb if they could, but can only afford entry level Blues Jr. Not an $850 eggie. Not a $1000 dvri. So why belittle these guys so you can preach your elitist views. What if it's Behringer or nothing? Plus, this hrd hate has been over stated ad nauseum. Everybody knows this viewpoint word for word. And you do push Egnater amps. I never hear you mention Mesa Boogie. You are paid by Egnater, so that makes you a spammer. This inflamatory crap above proves your lack of sincerity to be unbiased and fair and helpful on this forum.

I am not paid by Egnater, just endorsed; there's no money in the deal. I don't own a Mesa and never have, so I don't have an opinion on them (unlike most interweb experts, I don't repeat stuff I've read online as if I had first-hand experience.) I bought a Blues Junior because I believed all the bullshit I read about it on the FDP. It is never "Behringer or nothing:" there's always a better choice for your money... Used good gear is better than new junk.

And if you can afford a Blues Junior, you can afford a Tweaker combo, which rips the Tolex off a BJ.

I bought a HRDlx because the last amp I ever bought was a 76 Twin new. It lasted me over 30 with ZERO problems. Yes I was a professional and I still am to some degree. I didn't need that much power or weight any more and went with a company I trusted for over 40 years with zero problems. I trusted them. Little did I know how much they changed and cut corners for nothing but profit. It was seriously disappointing.I felt I got smoked bad and still do. If you're a bedroom player or jam with friends occasionally it's no problem. My 74 Champ is still giong strong with zero problems.

My HRDlx died not once, but three time on stage no less and numerous times at rehearsals. No, the HRDlx isn't a seriously expensive amp, but neither was my Twin, Bandmaster Vibrolux Reverb, Deluxe Reverb and I paid $150 for my Champ. I never had problems with my Sunn Scepter, Dano 25 or my Silvertone Twin Twelve. I still have a 73 Pignose that still works well. My Egnater head was less than I paid for my HRDlx and not much more with a 112 Cab. Again, after more than a year and a half, Zero problems. I play it daily, gig it a couple times a week and rehearse a few times a week. Even my home made pedals that I burned the boards for are still working.

Bottom line is a POS is a POS and if I can save someone some aggravation I will. If you have a HRD series amp and love it, more power to you. I set my sights a little higher and I'm really happy. I plan on getting a EH 44 pocket amp as a backup. That's how confident I am with Egnater. Just because someone doesn't like a piece of gear that someone else likes is no reason to get your panties in a bunch and start whining about how cruel we are. Save up a little longer. That's what I did. I'm not made of money and never have been, and when I feel ripped off, I'll say so. How come my Twin lasted so long as well as my entry level Champ practice amp? Quality parts and workmanship that's why.

Make them better and I'll nothing to $@!&* about. I not only recommend Egnater, but, the DRRI, Jet City, Victoria, and amp kits, Blackstar, Matchless, and Carr too. Like I said, if you're tired of my rants, put me on the Foe list, If you want to hear about reliable equipment that I used from a gigging musician do it with an open mind and take my advise for what you paid for it and at face value. I have 40 years of experience under my belt, it doesn't make me a great musician, just an experienced one.

Just remember that Fenders student gear like the Champ's and Bronco's was built with the same standards and quality as their higher end gear.

Sorry about the rant, but I need to do that once in a while.
