Has anyone heard of this before, or know what this is from? My reverb is strong on this amp, as with other fender amps i have had. So i usually set it at 2-3. Yesterday the reverb was fine while practicing, TODAY there hardly is any reverb at all, i have to put the reverb on 7-8 to get it about where it was on 2-3. This has been happening alot and at first I thought it was from playing out in different locations, floors, walls, rooms, etc. But i have began noticing it where i practice in my bedroom, never moving the amp.
I guess I need to open her up and check the connections at the V3 & V4 ?? (reverb preamp tube / reverb recovery tube)

kinda weird huh? intermittent problems have a source, so i guess it is something.....

I think you're onto something with the tubes...my guess is that one of them is either bad or going bad...at least, that's where I'd start.

yeah, that is what I did (twice now) in the past. I thought, well that did it! just a bad tube, til; it did it again, and again I switched the tubes to new ones.

.......update,*****
i just bumped kinda bumped the amp, and got some crackling like a bad preamp tube, so i bumped it again harder and there was a loud pop and now it works great

i have got to open her up......the "Fonzie" trick may only last so long huh?

at first I removed chassis from cab to ensure tube socket wire connections from V3 & V4 were ok. I noticed by nudging with my wood stick the small wires (green and blue) soldered on V4 tube socket that the sound was coming thru the speaker really strong, LIKE touching a record player needle. ONLY V4 (reverb recovery) was like this! Maybe supposed to be like this? Not sure......

rca connectors are good where they go into amp
...then i started thinking, maybe check on the other side.....
took out reverb tank from sleeve, made sure rca connections were good-jiggled around a lil'.

turned on while had tank out & i noticed my reverb was purfect.....
placed back into sleeve and mounted sleeve back into amp....
spider web? not solid connection at tank? oh well, works now
maybe placing my delay pedal in the back of the amp was not sucha good idea

thanks for the reply!

Removing the tank from the bag may have just been the ticket...sometimes, when the tanks shift around in the bag, things get "stuck"...removing and re-seating the tank in the bag might have been the gold nugget...although...tubes do play a part, that's for sure...
