quick question- do many of you run your effects thru the loop?

i have a stage 100 amp, and a zoom g3 for my only effect.

is there an advantage to using the loop?

Typically, time-based effects, such as delay, will work better in the amp loop, while effects such as distortion, work better in the amp input. Sometimes using effects in the loop can actually diminish the sound, or change their tone as compared to using the same effect on the input (depending on the particular amp). There is no "correct" way to do it, whatever sounds best to you. Experiment, and post your thoughts about what works for you. :)

I've tried it every which way and concluded I like my delay and chorus in the loop. My fuzz, compressor and eq I put through the amp input.

Since you are using a Zoom Pedal and I assume it models various amps, I will share with you a trick that was shared with me by another member on this forum. If you plug your gtr into the Zoom and run the output of the Zoom into the Power Amp input on the effects loop it bypasses the preamp section of your amp. I thought this might be a bad thing at first but then I tried it. My Pod sounded less than stellar running it any other way and I LIKE using a lot of effects. Just remember to turn down your Zoom's output volume before plugging it into the Power Amp In and gradually increase til you like what you hear. You may or may not be as wowed as I was but it really works well for me!
