Does anybody know where to buy 4 button footswitch at fair price?
Buying it online works out to about $100 after shipping, brokerage etc. (I am in Canada).
Could be used one, broken etc.

Maybe someone has schematics for it? Picture of the inside?

How does it work?
Is the outside cable ring ground and it gets connected to one of the pins to do the switch?
Is that momentary or "stay on" conncection?

I can build one, just need to know how it works.

Thanks for suggestions.
60 euro for 4 button footswitch, is way too much (plus shipping I guess).
I have seen those schematics. Neither one is for 4 button footswitch.

May be by analysing amp schematic, you could find what the schematic of the footswitch is 8)

I am not that smart :-)

So far I have deduced that it takes momentary switches and will experiment.
Hopefully I will not burn the amp.

If I only knew which one is the common ground................
Will try with the ring sometime next weekend unless someone knows............out there.........

I have one of those footswitches and a lot of paperwork and schematics that came with the amp. I am not an electrician so I don't know much about the schematic markings, but I found one with some footswitch info on it. It is Fender drawing number 0055766000, release date Jun 12, 2000. One note states: "The amplifier uses fender part number 0051894000 4-button footswitch which uses four short-to-ground momentary contact switches. When the amp is not in test mode the footswitch operates the quick-access feature on the front panel". There is a drawing under that note that looks like four wires (#FS1 thru 4) going to a 5-pin plug, one of which has an extra line going to the plug. Then those four wires go to a rectangle box and then I don't know what all those symbols are. If you have any questions that a layman can answer let me know.

Thanks, that confirmed my deductions about the momentary switches.
If I only knew which cable is ground, but that's just a matter of experimentation.
Could be done.

One day, i will get on it and build one.
Currently I am exploring my new JVM.....
