Hi! I've bought a Blues Junior 4 years ago, and I never changed the tubes since then. I'm wondering when should I change them? When I go to band practice (wich involve a 15 min drive with my BJ in the car trunk), I often have problems with the tubes, my amp suddently stops playing, I just need to remove and place the tubes again and it works fine.

So I'm guessing it's the ride that cause the problem and not the tubes themself. But I don't know much about it, so that why i'm asking some output from people who knows about tubes! Hehe!

Thanks!

Hi jaqueline560,

I doubt if it's a tube issue, but could be. It's more likely a bad connection, either solder joints or a tube socket problem.

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.

Thanks Shimmilou,

That's what I thought, I know BJ's are not the thoughest amps out there, but a car ride shouldn't cause problems like this.

When it's in the car, my valve combo amp (BJ) lays down on a seat. If the padding and the sprung upholstery is good enough for your bum, it's certainly going to give your amp similar protection.
