Looking at the SS60 combo schematic, it looks to me that effects loop connects the effects signal chain in series between the preamp -> reverb stages, when the effects relay switches in the effects loop. However, when I have a volume pedal in the effects loop & the volume pedal all the way off, I can still hear my guitar. If the send/return levels are high, it's very faint compared to when the volume pedal is fully on. Using the same effects loop in other amps, there is no signal getting through when the volume pedal is all the way off.

Does anyone have the same experience or do I have a problem with the amp?

This thread claims it is a design issue. I guess I'll have to call Fender to confirm this.

Hi digitaltubes,

I would say that the vol pedal isn't exactly "all the way" off, there will still be some path through the pedal even when the pedal is at it's lowest setting. Cranking the send/return levels, and getting a little sound through, seems to prove that some signal is getting through the pedal, as there is no other signal path. The SS60 loop is tube driven and recovered, and may be more sensitive than other amps' loops (especially when levels are cranked). Unplug the pedal from the loop, then switch the loop on and see if you get any sound out then.

The term "mountain out of a mole hill" comes to mind. Turn the loop off to completely get rid of the loop sound, simple. If you have to crank the levels to hear a "faint" sound, then it really isn't a problem with the loop or amp. :)

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.
