Indeed I do. Bisbee, Tombstone, Benson, and all surrounding areas.

So I went over to GC today and spent a couple of hours playing several amps. I was amazed that they had the selection that they had...not my first time in GC, but it feels like usually they don't get too far past the Line 6s and the HR series. Anyway...

I first tried an HR Deville...boring. Nothing special. I then tried an Egnater Rebel 30. I liked the amp, and if I were to choose between this and an HRDx, I'd choose the Rebel...but I have other options. I then tried the Egnater Tweaker 15, which I wasn't impressed with at all. Truth be told, I did not spend a lot of time with either Egnater, trying to dial in the perfect tone...but the truth is, I don't want to spend that much time.

I then picked up an American Dx Strat and headed into their "special room" where I found a Blues Deluxe and DRRI. The Blues Deluxe was a nice amp, but sounded harsh to me with single coils...maybe too much treble? Anyway, it was nice, but not perfect. I then tried the DRRI...and WOW...I was blown away! Great tone, and the Trem is remarkable. I was disappointed, because I had acted to late for the $600 used DRRI...and it was gone. I was contemplating whether I was ready to spend $1000 on a new one. I decided to sleep on it. As I was leaving, I saw a Twin Reverb sitting by the desk. I asked if I could try it out, and of course they obliged. I was fully expecting to hate the amp...the weight, the volume, etc. I was wrong! It was amazing. Great tone, easily dialed in. The volume was loud, but not as obnoxious as I expected, and the weight...well, yeah, that sucks. But wow! So, now I am thinking that $575 for a used Twin Reverb in mint condition is an absolute steal. I actually would be happy with either the Twin or the DRRI, but right now my better deal is on the Twin, so that is what I'm going to do. Hopefully I'll have it in my greasy little hands by the weekend.

On a side note, I am a bit concerned about the pedals that I use and how they will work with whatever new amp I get. I just bought a Carl Martin AC-Tone, which I am totally stoked about...hope it sounds like I think it should.

When you play these amps side by side you really get an idea why this amp is THAT good! :)

The TRRI is a great amp also, but that weight... and it'll be extremely hard to push the tubes in that amp! I say keep looking for another DRRI, they're out there for the right price. Don't forget, there will be sales coming up, you'll be able to pick up a brand new DRRI for around $850. IIRC, most GCs will give you 10 or 15% off if you trade something in. So take any piece of gear (even pedals) that you don't want anymore and get your discount. I think I traded a pedal and got mine for $800, got $50 for the pedal and 15% off.

Another great Fender amp to consider for about the same price is a Silverface Super Reverb, it is truly one of the best sounding amps out there IMO! Look around...

I score some of my best deals during the holiday season, what with cowboys who wanna give mama that new necklace or the rugrat a new X-Box for Christmas selling off their goodies to buy it (or afterwards to pay for it when the credit card bill comes due in January).

Disposable income is power.

Update: Its now been 2 days since I heard from the guy selling the TRRI for $575. Apparently he has disappeared. Damn! I suck.

So, I guess I wait to see what comes my way next...DRRI or TRRI. Whichever comes first at the best price will be what I go with. Otherwise, I'll just wait for the 15% off coupon at GC and buy the DRRI.

Keep in mind that a good, used DRRI for $600, is quite common on eBay and CL.

I saw a couple of good candidates just the other night.

I was sort of thinking that $600 for the DRRI was just a "good" price. On the other hand, $600 for the TRRI is outstanding, which is partially why I was so excited about it.

Anyone have any experience with the Peavey Delta Blues amp?

Local Music Go Round has a 1963 Twin Reverb for $650. What do you think?

It's either a typo or they're jerkin' yer gherkin.

A '63 Twin Reverb would be worth close to two large.
