Amp came in for repair with terrible distortion problem..Could not get clean sound at all even at low levels..Replaced the TDA2050 IC and she runs clean but runs hot even at idle.. How warm should these Integrated amp IC's run? I'm possibly thinkin that there is another problem causing it to run hot. I've got the schematic but so far things are checking out. The only thing that comes in a little low is the supply volts to the TDA (around plus minus 20volts as opposed to 25)..Any help would be great..I'll continue to scan the schematics for other possibilities...

Thanks

CW

I have a frontman 15g that's about 8 years old. It sounds fine clean, but when you turn the little drive button on it starts to sound terrible, kinda like a crackling *very* dirty sound, almost like a bad connection would sound or something.

Is this the same problem your having with yours???
