Thanks for the pics BMW2002Ti, looks like a very tidy job you did there! nice one.

Retroverbial the amp sounds great, I haven't heard it running on 4 tubes with the eminence speakers I have in there (it had original speakers before that). It's definitely louder, punchier and less distorted (especially at high volume, but also at low volumes). It's funny I have lately been putting tung sol 12ax7's in the pre and recently put some in (before I fixed it) and they sounded good prior to fixing. Since it has been fixed though the tung sols seem to be a bit bright and harsh which I really didn't notice before. Put some JJ 12ax7's in and I prefer them a lot more now so maybe added a little bit of brightness to the tone?

Differing brands of pre-amp tubes always add their own flavor to an amp's sonic character. Swap them around until you find a mix that's optimum to your ear.
