I have a frontman 212r, it worked fine until one day at band practice I blew the speakers by plugging my friends bass into it...i figured a quick sd peaker change would get it back in order...so I took some old speakers I had lying around and slapped them in. keep in mind, the amp was still working fine after the origin as l speakers popped, other than the occassional crackle...the speakers I installed were matching impedence and ohm rating as the stock speakers...the only difference was that the magnets on the back were a bit smaller than the stock speakers, I didn't know if it would have any affect...i took out on spealer and replaced it, so that I could test the sound with one stock speaker and one of the speakers I had laying around...other th as n the crackle from the broken speaker , the sound was fine, so I replaced the second. However, when I turned on the amp, the only sound that came out was an extremely loud hum the volume control had no affect over the hum at all. I unplugged the guitar cable and the sound stopped completely. Now when I turn on the amp, no sound comes out, whenever I plug a cable in the loud buzz starts back up. The drive channels wont turn on, the LED's do not light up. the only functioning part of the as mp is the power light still lights up. Could it just be a blown fuse? something worse? does it sound fixable and has anyone else had this issue?

If everything that you stated is true, then you might have the new speakers wired wrong.

If the fuse was blown, there would be no power light.

I would say that using a bass guitar on your amp should not "blow" the speakers, but it is possible.

Best test would be to use a known good speaker cabinet to test the amp. Just unplug the internal speakers from the jack and plug in the speaker cab and test. This can prove the amp, then go from there.

In that case you have an amp problem. You should check the speakers, disconnected, with an ohm meter to see if any are actually "blown". You assumed that the speakers were blown, and using old speakers that were laying around only adds to your problem as you didn't check them either. Time to see a tech. Any of the 5-year warranty left?

Yup only had it a year, but I'm not sure if the warranty will cover it?

Locate your receipt and call the store where purchased. Might be a good idea to put the original speakers back in first.

Contact MF and they can probably tell you how to handle it.

You might have to find an authorized Fender repair center and take it there.
