I welcome that suggestion. I have the SLO-100 preset in my old Line6 AX2 and I'm wondering how the GT8's compares. That amp is getting to be a haul around nightmare, and the GT8 might be a reasonable addition to link up to a lighter amplifier like my ZT 12 Club.

No, but I've discovered the GT8 has a Soldano preset which supposedly emulates the SLO-100 and I believe this pedal might be useful for Eric to recreate those familiar tones from that era with a flip of a button.

You know the other way in which he could recreate those tones if he really wanted to?

He could get a Soldano SLO100....

Way too expensive. You pay for the name tag not for the sound.

Seems most of the good amps are expensive now.

They have great tone, I'd love to get one, but they're WAY too expensive. My Strat cost less than the smallest of those Clapton amps.

Thanks for posting Brad. I didn't read all of the posts but a glimpse at the few sounded favorable. One of those old 100 watt Twin Reverb's from 65 with silver and black (that 100 watt may be an upgrade) or the one that weighs in at about 100 lb's, really though like 6 of those would be better, after all you're playing guitar again Brad!

Can't wait to hear John Suhr's input on these. He left the schematics with Fender before he left so hopefully some of it was incorporated into the Twinolux.

I would also like a definitive answer from Fender on the volume reduction of the "low output" and 1-speaker mode on the Twinolux. Are we talking whisper levels, small gig, bedroom or what?

Eric hasn't tried these pedals yet.

But he'll be very surprised to hear the SLO-100 preset, bringing back a lot of good memories. :D

Check out Premier Guitar Magazine online. They've a demo.

Is this from the UK or US? I saw that entire rig in NYC. Were you at either? We know Ceri was.

Kong and I were there on the Sunday prior. A rainy, inhospitable day. The room was relatively empty and there was a guy in there with a camera taking pictures. I wonder if that was Snyder. By the way, that little morsel of a photo is just a taste, it's the monster in the next photo in the slide show which was the whole meal. Check out those cables going in near the floor to the far right in the photo!!. Those were easily 1.5 in thick.

It's insane! I bet whoever bought that little lot still hasn't figured out how to turn it all on  ... and then you'll get "ok, the power lights are on but I can't get any sound..."

Whoa, what a nice pair! A Blackie and a Brownie prototype.

Image

IMO, this 2004 "Blackie" has a Fishman Powerbridge, a separate volume knob for the piezo and a toggle switch for magnetic/piezo mix.

Guess this axe belongs to Pete Townshend, as Eric never played his unplugged set with a Strat.

Image

As for the Brownie signature, I think it's a prototype - the only distinctive feature being a gorgeous flame maple top.
