Im a massive Clapton fan but I think it makes sense to have someone else demo it.

What if Clapton played through it and was just noodling, or the recording quality not great?

Who would but one then?

This keeps keeps it a bit more of a mystery!

Besides, if Buddy's tone there isnt enough to make you stand in line for one what is!

These artists have totally distinct EQ's. Buddy's eliminates all the lows. The highs and volume are full boost. Clapton's amp EQ's are still mystery. In the four years of the Forum discussions we have never had a precise description of his amp setting, only that he uses a Bradshaw switchbox and a wha pedal on stage.

I love buddy Guys music, but personally I hate his tone...way too much treble for me..
Now before I get slammed let me ad that I am primarily a bassist ( and no I am not a frustrated guitarist on bass. I am a frustrated drummer on stringed instruments..lol) so I like a lot of bottom end in my music.

IMHO you shouldn't have to feel the need to justify your opinion out of fear of rebuke. If you feel it amplifies your position, then by all means.

I'm not particularly fond of his tone in general but there have been tracks where I've found it otherwise.

I mentioned my reasons because as a bassist I realize that my ears need to adjust to guitar frequencies as many guitars sound to bright to me, and to help others understand why I might have this opinion.

ahhhh, count me in on the contest - where do I sign up? What is the prize? Do I have to be present to win? What is the deal with Eric's fingers? Did he get some new fingers?? Am I missing something here?

:?

The Twinolux sounds just delicious-Buddy Guy was coaxing some great sounds from it in his short demo-it could have been much longer.

These amps are quite expensive. Probably too expensive for me but I'm not sure that they're overpriced in relation to some of Fender's other reissue amps like the '57 Twin. I think the '57 Champ RI is like $1000 and if the E.C. Vibro-Champ has a MSRP of $1400, then it's gonna be close to the same price as the '57 Champ RI. Apoligies if somebody already pointed this out.

I think the "transition" to the short haircut took a couple of months to be completed.

...here's the final result:

Eric would look much better with a little bristle of beard rising his face (even without the EC-1 in his hands!).

Image

For the October 19th show at the Estadio Nacional of Chile I bet his setlist will include some tracks from the Journeyman era. Using a Boss GT-8 to emulate such sounds would be a nice surprise.

You seem to slip this into a lot of posts. Are you sponsored by Boss?

No, but I've discovered the GT8 has a Soldano preset which supposedly emulates the SLO-100 and I believe this pedal might be useful for Eric to recreate those familiar tones from that era with a flip of a button.
