Hi

I was just wondering if a Jensen-equiped Blues Junior mark III has been released yet?

In a shope recently, I saw a Tweed BJ with the circular cardboard tag, secured by a piece of string to the amp handle describing the amp as a mark III; BUT, it had a chrome control panel, set 'back to front', just like the older version amps??

Does anyone know if Fender retained the old control panel for a mark III tweed? Has a mark III tweed been released yet?

I was slightly suspicious that a tag from a newer mark three amp had been (inadvertantly?) secured to an older version amp.

It sounded nice I have to say!

Hi,

Yes, there's a Limited Edition BJ III in Tweed with a Jensen C12N speaker available here in the UK. They've only just appeared on the market though. Not sure if they're available anywhere else?

Thanks

Do you know if it has the Chrome 'back to front' panel, like the older version, or the black 'right way round' panel of the mark III ?

It has the chrome back to front panel.

If I get time tonight I'll post some photos.

Thanks very much for the heads-up!

I wonder why they kept the old chrome panel if it's a mark III ?

Do you know if there are any circuit differences, or is the only difference a Jensen speaker?

I bought the 'normal' one in the end, but the tweed did sound nice.

thanks

I guess they just wanted to keep it 'old school'? Unless they had a load left over?!

As far as I'm aware the only difference is the speaker, apart from the obvious cosmetic differences.

Are you pleased with yours? It's a great little amp; enjoy!

Hi

Encountered a problem that soemone else is facing on hear toight: playing really quitely (rest of household in bed), sudden loss of base and 'tinny' sound, lokked round the back and one of the power tubes was glowing really bright- like it was about to blow, while the other was showing no incandescence at all!! Turned off and on again, everything ok, both power tubes the same brightness. I can only assume it soes not like being run at very low settings on both volume and master!

I hope it's not a bias problem (mismatched tubes?)

Apart from that I lov it: sounds jsut like the '59 bassman setting of my SCXD, but more dynamic, and it sounds much better than my Blackstar HY-5R, an over-hyped mistake IMO
