I've seen new power tubes red plate. Your bias can drift and drift quite a bit. The best thing to do like many of us is to learn to bias it yourself. Why risk cooking a new set of tubes? You usually need to re-tube every few years if it's biased properly sometimes way longer. It's not fanatical to keep your gear in good shape and have it gone over once in a while. Especially if you have no electronic experience. It could save you hundreds of bucks in the long run. I bias my own amps and have since I was a kid. I've been playing for over 40 years. Bias is way more than "tone taste". That's only part of the equation.

Replace with the same spec tubes and you are fine...the tubes come pckged in sets and if they are off a little..no harm done. Bias is more tone taste then the damn amp blowing up  So your natural breakup is a little sooner or even a little later...most of us will never notice the slight difference unless they are WAY off...and that is highly unlikely

Modern tubes even the same brand and name could not have the same speck as those in the amp. Quality production change......That's why you need to check bias each time you replace your power tubes unless you buy a couple of set at the same time and same place.

Yep, and you can take that to the bank. Like I said, I've been playing guitar for over 40 years and have had nothing but tube amps. You need to bias unless the amp is cathode bias and even then it's still a good Idea to at least check it. A fixed bias amp in not a cathode amp.
