Hi,
I'm looking to record my original Cybertwin w/an external distortion pedal into my Mac and I'm not sure how the S/PDIF output works..

Does the S/PDIF output of the Cybertwin also capture all of the tone from my setup or does it omit an external distortion pedal and only capture the amp itself?

Thanks!
Matt

I have a CT, and I'm pretty sure that if you use a pedal into your CT that it will be included in the CT's S/PDIF output.

I've only recorded with CT once using the S/PDIF, and found the tone to be too 'dry'. After that one recording, I started using the XLR-Outs in the back of the CT D/I into my recorder.

The reason being is that the CT XLR-Outs are 'impedance loaded' to mimic a mic'd speaker. So for 'mono' recording using my CT, I plug a cable that has a XLR jacks into either my BR-800 or BR-1600, and plug a 1/4" jack into the CT's headphone jack to mute the speaker. I monitor the CT with headphones plugged into the recorder.

For direct PC recording with Reaper with my CT, I have a external Cakewalk UA-4FX USB Audio/MIDI Interface http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.php?ProductId=758, the steps are the same, except that I plug the XLR cable into the UA-4FX.
