Another vote for the DRRI. Even though the PRRI is my favorite amp and I own both, for your situation I'd say the DRRI will cover more ground. What the PRRI has got going for it over the DRRI is a better sounding tremolo. If that's not a major concern for you, then get the DRRI.

As a couple of others have mentioned, if you're playing with humbuckers I'd recommend the DRRI for it's greater headroom.

Well, buying a used 1996 DRRI tomorrow for $500. It's settled! At least on my end. Very happy and giggling like a schoolgirl. I'm so sick of buying sub-par equipment that I'll just have to upgrade someday. I have a feeling that I'll have this baby for a long time.
