my gear consists of the following:

fender stage 100 amp
peavey envoy amp-at my brother's house the last 6 months while he searches for a new amp
zoom g3 processor
and of course, my beloved strat

i am thinking of ways to use all of them together. i have 2 outputs on the zoom, so i could run it that way for some fun effects.

it also got me thinking-the envoy has a simulated output jack on the back to hook up to a p.a. system. if i took that 1/4" output, and put it into the input jack of the fender jack, would it do any damage? would it be better to just go thru the zoom?

hopefully i'll get my amp back soon so i can have a little more fun.

For a while I was running my signal into a stereo chorus, then its outputs into a Boss RT-20 rotary simulator, and its outputs into 2 amps.
Quite nice effect if you had a bit of separation between the amps, but got tired of hauling 2 amps everywhere :)

yeah-there are some stereo effects on the zoom, and it would be fun to play with thm a bit for some "spacy" sounds

You'd be better off using the Zoom as your split; using the PA out of the Peavey amp means you're feeding a processed sound that includes a speaker emulation to your amp, when the goal of the 2 amps is to have 2 different sounds.

+1

The most dramatic stereo effect (or stereo simulation) is produced by two entirely discreet-and-independent signal chains feeding dual amps.

Geez, do we all have a shiftless brother like that?

I'm still waiting for mine to return a germanium Vox Tone Bender I loaned him back in '75!

Nope, mine is a respectable human being...although he has NO musical talent, but I don't let that bother me a bit!

i think we all have a family member like that. they see you play, and say "i can do that. let me borrow your old guitar or amp"

just last year my brother brought over some guitar stuff that i left at the house when i moved out 30 years ago. in an old gym bag i found a univox micro phaser, a nu-wa pedal, and an old fuzz tone, as well as some picks that were about 40 years old. brought back some memories 8)

A few more pedals there and you're gonna need a bigger room!

Lately I've been fond of playing my Vibroverb in tandem with a '64 Pro Amp -- with about six feet of separation (contingent upon available stage space).

I'm just guessing here, but that line out on the back of your one amp is probably a line level signal. You don't want to be running that into the instrument IN on the other amp.

Best bet is to split using the pedal since you'll likely get equal output on both. I do the same thing with my Boss DD-6. Stereo delay is awesome into two amps! :D

That line out cable hooks into a Mackie 1620i mixer. Got 'em split out of a chorus pedal. I had to use an ebtech hum eliminator to kill the ground hum..

Are they all plugged into the same power strip? Usually that hum means you have gear on different circuits in your house. try putting them all on one.

Tried that one...
I have a power filter in my studio that filters all the junk out of the ac power and I runn all of my equipment off of that line...

They do not hum at all with the EbTech Hum eliminator on one of the cables going to one of the amps...
