So...my amp is making this weird oscillation noise on certain notes. It's especially apparent while using a fuzz or distortion pedal. I've tried different guitars and increased the bias from @64 to 75. This is not normal, right? What could be causing this? The amp is only about a month old.

Edit...okay, how do I embed a vid?

Oh and I swapped out the preamp tubes and get the same thing. I don't have a matched set of power tubes lying around so I can't check those. I do have a multimeter...

Are you sure it's the amp? It sounds to me like you have other guitar strings vibrating besides the one that you are fretting. Try muting all of the other strings while you try it again. I would also take the amp off of that cart, and move it away from all of the other stuff on the shelves and the guitar behind it, to be sure something else isn't vibrating.

It's not the amp... I'm not used to playing with so much distortion. The pedals are accentuating the natural harmonics on the 5th, 12th and 19th frets. With guitar volume off I can here the dissension. I just bought the squier in the vid so I just noticed it. My DuoSonic does it but not to the extent the Bullet does. Oh well, live and learn. At least I got to bias the amp a bit hotter in the process. I think is sounds nicer... tired ears at this point.

Thanks for the reply shimmilou...

It may be a microphonic power tube.

I had a blackplate RCA 6V6GT develop similar noises in my beloved 1965 Princeton Reverb -- it almost broke my heart to have to replace it (and its matched mate).
