That's right, many of the Fender employees in the beginning '50s were Hispanic...Lupe Lopez,I think I remembered her name right, wired many chassis' and I've seen her name on a piece of masking tape several times.
As for the comment Cali' used to be Mexico....all of my area in "Tanisi" an early Native village name, was Cherokee,Creek and Chickasaw hunting grounds...we're all just passin' through...nobody actually owns this land.

In large part, where you manufacture has little to do with the quality of the final part/product.

Much bigger part of the equation is the price point, the skill of the factory workers given the complexity of the product, and the amount of quality control a company is willing to invest. Think of the Mexican Strats and Teles - they are becoming very good. As good as the US stuff? No, but it's a different price point they're trying to hit. Still very good, very playable

Some companies get it right with non-US manufacturing; others (Behringer, for instance) makes cheap stuff that breaks. Not all off-shore manufacturing should be lumped in with them.

that being said, very happy with my US-built Fender and Dr. Z amps, but it's more a personal preference.

I am 99% sure the only "RI" models assembled and/or made in Mexico are the Blues Deluxe/Deville RI and the Hot Rod RI models. Anything that's a PRRI, DRRI, TRRI, VKRI, etc etc is made/assembled in the US... those that are $999 or higher priced.

2012 now, princeton is made, well I do not know, but it seems it does not have plywood anywhere.

Deluxe I think is made here but not sure

021-7400-000

anyone know, this is the vintage series

Thanks in advance

PS: Aspiring Musician, what do you think of the late 70's (79 I believe) silver face princeton reverbs? I have seen one lately for $750. I had a '65 I never should have sold, but maybe a 65 reissue deluxe is a better bet.

This has been an interesting thread. I am more impressed with this forum everyday.

Regarding the Mustang and GDEC series. Those amps are as much software as hardware. I assume that the software development was done in the USA. I also assume that the software is not a part of the equation when determining "Made in XXXX".

I have found out that all of the vintage reissues series are made in the USA and all have birch plywood.

Hey Man, don't shoot the messenger, the question was asked, the amp says, Made In USA, where parts come from is where they come from, what can I way, I am not a detective, just trying to answer the OP's question. I got this info from Fender USA, I guess if you are more curious you could call and ask more question, I am satisfied. Same as a Ford or Chevy, Made in USA but where parts come from they come from.

Good night Gracie.

California might as well be Mexico.

California once WAS Mexico. So I guess that even if it is built/assembled in Corona, chances are they are being built/assembled by Mexicans or people of Mexican descent. Point is, for me it doesn't really matter so long as the quality of the product is good?

It was also Spanish and at one time, belonged to the Indigenous Native Americans.

This is how it works, if it is made in China, or Mexico, etc, it has to say that, if it is made in the USA it does not have to say that, it is taken as so. That is the law, although to your point, I would sure have it in bold letters, MADE IN USA as it matters to many of us, so Fender is being lax on this, but they are Made In USA, the reissue series that is.
