Just picked up a Fender Passport online auction because I am a worship leader for an upcoming church retreat. I wanted to get used to the Passport prior to my NEED at the retreat. Well 5 minutes into the practice at church yesterday - the RED PROTECTION Light came on and everything shut down. I only had the speaker, my guitar and 1 mic hooked up. Can anyone help me? I returned this to the auction dealer I purchased it from...he is an authorized Fender repair shop...but how will this NOT happen when I most need it - while providing worship experience for 300 400 people? Please anyone tell me how to prevent a failure like this again? I smelled something burning and then...nothing...please help

A fuse inside your amp blew. It blew up so you wouldn't. God's got your back!

I hope just the fuse is the solution...this thing weighs a ton and to ship it back and forth is NUTS....I will let them look into it and provide a solution. Just the fuse may bring comfort to an easy fix if this should happen again. I did try to swith out the fuses...and still got "nutta" but I had no way to tell if the fuses we good in the first place....sooooo... I will go pick up a few additional spare fuses.... Does that happen a lot? Is the Passport a good product? I saw one used at a small coffee house and thought it was cool...so I picked up this one with 4 inputs to use on the Church retreat....I am the whole package...so I am kinda stressed that this didn't work at first. Any confidence I can get the better thanks for the post

It seems like a lot of people have this same problem.

The passport uses four pairs of output power transistors mounted to a big heat sink (the black fins on the back of the unit). If they get too hot then they pop.

Or you could have a power supply issue but this is not as likely. Did you have the storage compartment open during operation? This is where the amp seems to breathe through.
