Hooking up my RP 500 multi-effect into the PWR IN on the back. Is anybody else using this hook up? Would've liked the 4 cable option of the RP 1000 but couldn't afford it at the time. Please share your thoughts - likes/dislikes. Thanks

I'd run the RP500 through the front and not through the effects loop.

I had an old Digitech RP7 Valve (remember the one with the 12AX7 preamp tube in it?) that I tried using with my newer Fender Frontman 65r. It sounded good when I only used the chorus, phaser, flanger, or delay modes through the effects loop. Everything else was way too harsh and brittle.

I ran it straight through the front of the amp, and it sounded a whole lot better, but, for some reason, I still couldn't get it to "play nice" with the Frontman 65r - or vice versa. I fiddled with it, played with it, tweaked it, fought with it, and ended up selling it on Craigslist. I am slowly going back to regular pedals.
