I have a Standard Strat, a Hotrod DeVille and I'm looking for a good compression/sustain pedal for around 150$. Iv'e heard that they can add a lot of noise to the signal. Any suggestions?
Rock out with a body part out!

Best compression pedal I've ever played through is the Barber Tone Press. You can use it like a traditional compressor and get all that squeezy squishy thing from it, or you can blend your unaffected signal with the compressed signal and bring back your attack. The blend is infinitely variable, so you can make it sound exactly the way you like. A+ excellent. $149 brand new all over the place, it's the only stompbox compressor in my studio (and I like compression).

I use an Electro Harmonix Soul Preacher. Only two knobs and not very much noise at all. I did turn the trim pot down on the inside to make it less noisy. Works well on all my single coils, not so well on my humbuckers. I use it to beef up my tone when recording and also to overdrive my Big Muff and other over drive pedals. I keep the volume on 12 oclock and the sustain way down and almost off.

Here is a recent tune I did with a Telecaster, Soul Preacher, Electric Mistress and a Small Stone. The lead was just the Soul Preacher a little chorus, delay and reverb, straight into the mixer.

My #1 Visual Sounds Route 66
You get the best of both worlds, it makes a tube amp come alive !

Or Cmat Mods has some awesome super quiet comps at very reasonable prices, I went back to the route 66 due to the combination of overdrive and comp in one pedal and it sounds great !!!!

I picked up my route 66 at a pawn shop for under 100 bucks
