There are several amps in the VM series but based on the other amps you mentioned I would guess you are thinking about the Deluxe VM. I owned a blonde one for a short while and it was ok but not overly impressive tone wise. I would prefer a pure tube amp and use pedals as opposed to the onboard DSP effects. I also have a Super Champ XD which is in the VM series which is really a practice amp and in my opinion has a better sound than the Deluxe VM did but it too uses DSP. You mentioned a Carvin Nomad which is in their Vintage series. I like the Carvin amps and own a Vintage 16. It has great tone and handles pedals very well. They are made in the USA. I think you might also want to look at the Peavey Classic 30. Play several amps before you decide. There is a lot available in that size amp and of course don't forget the Deluxe Reverb which is a lot of peoples favorite.

If HR series is not an option may be the SuperSonic 22 is enough versatile and enough loud but I don't know about reliability

I am certain that you'll find the VM's to be just as reliable as the HR's......

Nah, I doubt it. I'd go with the DRRI over the Vintage Molested or HRD series. If not I'd give Egnater a real serious look.

It means IMO the two amps are equivalent......

I have no experience with the VM series amps.
The Nomad is a sweet sounding amp. The clean channel really stands out to my ears.
The Traynor YCV amps sound good from what I've heard in online demos, but I have never heard one in person.
Peavey Valveking I would avoid. I played a Valveking in my search for a tube amp, and the clean channel was horribly tinny and shrill even with the highs rolled all the way back.
The HRD's reputation speaks for itself, and not in a good way. All I ever hear about those amps are reliability issues; which is sad because I rather like the tone of an HRD.

My suggestion would be Egnater as Supro suggested already, or maybe a Peavey classic 30 or Classic 50.
I have a Jet City 20w combo, and I love it, and I really like the Jet City jca5212rc which is a 2 channel, 50w 6L6 powered 2x12 combo. The 5212 is in the running in my mind to be my next amp, but Egnater may get the nod.

Obviously, I would recommend checking out an Egnater combo... Both the Rebel 30 and Tweaker 15 come in combo configurations that crush most other amps in their price range. But there are lots of good choices that are not on your list, and couple of bad ones that are.

Nah. Differing opinions about amps don't light a fuse, especially if one shows a little class when responding. But questioning one's ability to decide for themselves, or to indicate that someone was "fooled" in one way or another, and/or gross exaggerations might spark. Surprising, but good for the forum to hear the personal stuff left out. I even like the clever nicknames; molested, lol. 8)

I have the Bandmaster VM and I really like it. The cleans are fantastic and the drive channel is very usable. The delay is also nice. I'm not much of a chorus guy so I can't really comment on that. Sounds good enough when I use it though.

I haven't had any problems with mine and I've had it about 8 or 10 months now. Very versatile. Takes pedals very well too.

Cons? The cleans aren't quite as nice as a full-blown tube amp but they're more than enough for me. That's really the only downside I can think of but if you're not super picky, I don't even see that as being a con.

The Super Champ XD is also part of the VM line and I have one o those as well. Great little amp! I come from a background of running a 4/12 so to go from that to a 10" speaker was quite an adjustment. Very versatile, takes pedals on the first channel every well, not so much on the modeling channel though.

Currently I'm running both amps at the same time through a stereo rig and it's just about perfect.

I know a lot of people rag on the VM series but to me, they're fantastic.
