just swapped a Tweed Blues Jr for a 1994 Blues Deluxe- looking for info on differences between the original and the Reissue BD. I've scanned some posts regarding re-tubing, speaker changes, etc., but would love to gain more insight from the vets on here who are familiar with & use them. I really like the core sound of the amp, and I'm sure changing tubes from the "Fender Design" will only improve on it. Gigging with it for the first time this evening, so I'll get some better perspective on it's strengths/weaknesses. Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge!

I bought a new 94 BD when they first came out, sold it last year... the cleans were great, the overdrive sucked. I put a Celestion V30 in mine and Winged C 6L6, 5751 in V1 I believe, really improved things, but I still never used the overdrive on the amp, just throw a tube screamer in front of it and you'll be much happier.

Hi RoosterBooster1987,

Basically, the BDRI added an external speaker jack and an adjustable bias, both of which the original BDlx did not have. Other than those additions, a slightly higher supply voltage in the RI, and a different output transformer, they are pretty much the same amp.
