What happened?

In the '70s, every high school ding-dong in the USA with a Led Zeppelin poster on his bedroom wall and a stack of KISS albums wanted to be a guitar hee-roh but none of them wanted to pay what it took at the time for quality gear -- they wanted cheap junk. And the musical instrument companies (and their shareholders/owners) were all too happy to oblige even if it meant flushing their historically-honorable reputations down the crapper. The companies got so fat selling cheap junk that they no longer felt obliged to provide solid reliable gear for the working pros whose livelihoods depended upon it. That's what happened.

JMO......rooted solidly in historical fact

The '30' is a very nice amp Arjay. Check it out.
I'd be interested in your opinion.

I really liked it.

Well it's too bad the amps never rebounded from that. The guitars seem to have a fared a bit better.

+1...The Rebel 30 combo is the first Egnater I had the chance to play through, I've been wanting one since that day.

+1!

I recall the era within my lifetime whereupon every Fender amp was built to the same rigid standard of reliability and dependability, from the ubiquitous Champ to the mighty Dual Showman.

Arjay

+2, My 74 Champ never saw the inside of a shop and I just changed the original 6V6 just because of rattle, not total failure. They all were reliable way back from practice amps to professional amps.

Save that tube -- you may discover it works perfectly fine in another (different) application.

I'm liking it!

Any pedals in front or straight in?
Nice difference in sound between the channels.
Looking forward to the proper shoot.

You bet Arjay. I learned that decades ago. It's amazing whay a change in position will do or just another amp. That old 6L6 is sitting all wrapped up in a drawer in my music room.

bluesstrattone, Really nice demo.

Thanx,
No pedals except a touch of reverb I added later.
My ts808 and bd2 are very very lonely. With this amp,
I feel I don't have to put an od in front.

Nice rundown, Blues! Great amp, no?

My guitar rig now consists of a Vox wah, a Barber Tone Press and a Hermida Zendrive ahead of the Rebel 20 head and a Line 6 M13 in the effects loop for time based effects, and three or four different speaker cabs. Swapping things around in different combinations, I can safely say that there is nothing this rig won't do.

Thanks for the demo! 8) really liked the cleans in the beginning of the video, very Fenderish IMO... didn't really care for the overdriven tone, kinda muddy sounding, it could be the iphone or maybe it just needs some tweaking... I've never been a fan of using any overdrive on an amp, always prefer to start with a good clean sounding amp and use an OD pedal.

Congrats, looks like a great amp!
