I could not find any burnt componants or traces, not even a burnt smell in the chassis, however it keeps popping the main fuse at the AC plug.

Shorted winding maybe ?

I shipped the Chassis off today, they should have it in sunny CA by next Monday at the latest.

I'll keep you posted as things progress

Did you try it with the tubes pulled? A bad output tube can cause the fuse to blow.

Thought I might post a picture or three of the beast getting ready to travel.

It weighs a ton, what are those speakers ??? Vintage 30's ? Don't think so, The cones look like tone tubby's hemp cones ???? Maybe 80 watts each.

The original owner had the speaker output set at 4 ohms, the internal should be 8 ohms with the two 16's in parallel.

bb, They're Celestion Custom Elite 80's more than likely. I have them in my 112 cabs. They sound a little stiff to me when they're new, but when they break in they're incredible sounding. They're rated at 80 watts and are custom voiced for Egnater Celestion Lead 80 speakers. That's going to be a great sounding rig no doubt.

Thanks Supro !
I found a Bruce Egnater thread in another forum stating just that.
You could hook up a pair of 4x12's and blow the front end of the crowd back a few feat !
Its a beasty for sure !

What I like about Egnaters stuff is all the switches and dials do something. Nothing is there for show. The Power Grid system is a really really cool feature. I believe it can be set to half power and go from 10 to 50 watts. Did you get the foot switch too?

No foot switch

I was wondering if the ten watt setting was going to get the volume down to like a 5E3 circuit ?

My only real thought right now is, how long till it returns !!! LOL !!!

I'm just blown away at Egnater, i told them upfront that i was buying it used and they are fixing it any way.

Thats good Business in a world of "if you don't like it go elsewhere" attitude.

They're just great people to deal with. The thing is it's Bruce's name on the product and takes it very seriously. I don't know if the 10 watt setting works like that. I know the watts control on my Rebel doesn't work like an attenuator. What happens is I lose headroom and punch. 1 watt can still get really loud. Kind of like a Tweed Princeton on steroids. The volume and gain controls are great on the Rebel and it can go from the studio to the stage no problems. It;'s hands down one of the most v[tonally versatile amps I've ever owned in 40+ years of playing and gigging. You'll have a ball with your Tourmaster. On my Rebel, I shape my tone with the watts and tube mix dial. It's the tone I've had in my head for years and never could nail it. Now It's easy.
