I'm thinking that this is the amp that I will get in the near future due to what I have heard others say about it and the amazing sound that comes out of them (have a couple friends in a band that use them and they love them).

My question: does anyone on here have that amp with a strat that has vintage noiseless p/u's in it? If you do have this setup, how does the pickup's match the amp in performance and sound? I do love the sound of a tube amp, but have never heard what a strat with the pickups I have sounds like on that amp.

Thoughts? Opinions? Feelings?

I cant vouch for the vintage noisless( and I know I will prolly get flamed for saying this) ,but I dont care for the blues junior and strat matchup. To my ears there in really no low end to speak of when playing a strat thru a blues jr.I have both vintage low output pickups and texas specials which have a good low end and dont care for the sound.I l do however like the sound of the jr with a humbucker style guitar. My les paul sounds great thru it, but I still prefer my deluxe reverb with both.I dont know if its the el84s or simply the blues jr cabinet , but I would check out a 6v6 or 6l6 amp instead.JMHO.

+1

No EL84-based platform ever sounded "Fender-y" to me.

I have a Deluxe Players Strat with the noiseless PU's and playing it through a Blues Jr. and a Blues Deluxe in a stereo rig. I sometimes just jam with the Blues Jr. by itself, but I usually use the 1 x 12 ext. cab hooked up to it loaded with a C-Rex. The Blues Jr. has got a C-Rex in it as well. Most of the I have two compressors lit up, along with a 7 band eq'd for mids, Bad Monkey and punch a Screamin Blues on for more dirt. Usually this is the way I practice at low levels. For jamming live I usually can get by with just the Bad Monkey or the Screamin Blues by themselves..

Here is a song I recorded with a condenser mic in front of a Blues Jr. for the lead with the Deluxe Players Strat..

I like the sound I get from the pickups with the Blues Jr., I also have a Blacktop Strat that is pretty beefy sounding through that amp without any pedals at all.
