Is there a fix for the switching noise on the SS 22? Anybody know if Fender covers this as a warranty fix?

What do you mean by "switching noise" ? Is it a "POP" ?
There is a mute circuit --> http://support.fender.com/schematics/gu ... ematic.pdf -->Q1 that is activated in transient mode, if it is not normal for sure the warranty is your friend. 8)

Mine does this both ways between Vintage & Burn if there is signal flowing at the time, only avoidable if I physically mute all the sound/strings before switching... bit of a pain :/

How many seconds do you leave between when you first put the power switch "on" and when you flip the "stand-by"switch on? Over the years (I have a 2006 60w super-sonic), i have noticed that when I only leave about 5-10 seconds, it does the same thing with a loud "pop" when switch channels or when activating the FX loop. I now give it a good minute for the power tubes to heat ups bit before I flip the standby switch and no more loud-pop in my case.

This seems to be a common issue with the SS22. If you scan this forum you will undoubtedly find multiple posts on the same issue. Maybe one of them will have a better answer to your question.

My ill-fated SS22 also suffered from loud popping going from the vintage to burn channels. Fender replaced 2 contacts under warranty. The pop was not completely eliminated, but significantly reduced.

Thanks to all. I tried the warm up, no go. I pulled my effects out of the loop, no go. I guess I'll just mute the strings till I can get a fix from Fender. Very disappointed this amp left the factory like this. Should have been discovered in Sound Test. I'll post again after I talk with Fender.

That's too bad jtfragile. if the pop only comes when you change channels on the footswitch and not directly on the amp, it could be a problem with the footswitch cable or fottswitch itself....might be worth the hassle of going back to your fender dealer to try another footswtich, or even a higher-end guitar cable. if you google "loud pop + switching channel", you will find a few post on marshall & mesa boogie amps with same symptoms, and fixes ranges from chaning tubes to guitar cables.
