Anybody got any suggestions on a good extension cab for a Blues Jr. that won't cost me my life savings and won't give me a hernia moving it around??

One great match for the BJr would be the HRDlx 1x12 ext cab. This closed back cab, or any similar cab, gives a nice improvement in sound from the BJr, and this one is fairly light weight. I use my cab with the HRDlx and BJr. The HRDlx fits perfectly on top of this cab, and if you tip the cab onto it's side the BJr fits nearly perfectly on top (which was a side). You may need some rubber feet for the BJr to keep it on the cabinet, as with the existing feet it can vibrate off of the cab (barely caught mine :o )

+1

A great way to give that amp some true bottom end AND allow for better sonic projection.

I use one of these for my Blues Junior loaded with a Cannabis Rex..

I have to stand it up up the end, because the handle gets in the way with the short feet on the Blues Jr.

I sometimes plug into this one as well, but I use it mostly for my Blues Deluxe ext. cab..

I have two 16ohm Texas heats loaded up in it....

About two weeks ago I hooked up a 1 x 15 closed cab with a Peavy Scheffield Pro in it and it sounded real good with the Blues Jr.

That might be my next adventure in ext. cab's....

Fifteen's seem to be highly under-rated as a contemporary guitar speaker.

Good thing I just bought a '65 showman head and will now be looking for a matching 1x15 cab with a D130F...

Saw one on Ebay last night -- a '68 1 x 15 tone-ring model (drip-edge silverface) with a D140F. Six bills, shipped from Phoenix.

Yesterday I swapped out extension cabs on my Blues Jr.. I had been using a custom built 112 with the combo speaker unplugged. I needed that extn speaker with another amp so I purchased a Geezer 112 extn. cab and that thing really rocks. It cleans up nicely but gets a little rude with a slight twist of the volume knob. http://www.geezersoundco.com/index.html

Very nice work Arjay. I am a rank amateur by comparison.

I made my cab for 3 reasons:

1. I was too frugal (cheap!)
2. I found a really nice vintage MIA Wolverine speaker that I didn't want to waste.
3. Fender discontinued the cab that matched my HRD White Lightning.

I've got a couple of surplus fifteens laying around (one JBL D130F, one '65 Jensen Concert Series EM1500). One of these days I may build a 1 x 15 cab and use one or the other in it. Nothing goes to waste in my shop.
