The new 100 Series brings not only more output power, but also some very welcomed changes like an additional clean channel and a Notch Tune control in the lead channel. But let's start at the beginning... check out our test and review of the amp head:

Thanks Audiofan :)

This is one of the amps that I've wanted to check out, and your review just helps confirm my thoughts about the amp, good job.

Although I have to ask why only 3-1/2 stars? You used terms like "not far from perfect", and "perfect", I would have expected 4 to 4-1/2 or even 5 stars. For negatives I saw; unglued covering, weight and price. I wouldn't count the weight against it, it's a large tube amp, and the price isn't more than other brands similar amps, is it? :?:

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.

I'm interested in the switch and circuitry that takes it from 100 to 25 watts.

Reads just like any other PR puff-sheet.

The star rating on the amp is not a reflection of what we think, it is the calculated average of star ratings given by our members. We don't really control that!

I agree. Funny thing is in the sound samples, the biggest difference I hear between the Bassman and Showman is the brightness of the Showman. Like someone just turned on the bright switch. I found nothing Tweed about the sample. Too clean and not complex enough. They would be better without the vintage amp comparisons. Some of us really do know better. I also can't figure out why they keep comparing the 100 watt amp to the 22 watter.
I hope it's not 13 Groove Tubes.

What I'd really like all these magazines to do is long term/ real world reliability testing. That will separate the men from the boys or the real amps from the toys.

13 tubes. Does that mean one could turn off the heat in one's studio when they practice/play?

Probably, you could probably warm up lunch on it too.
Here's a new concept. How about a new amp that actually works for years and years, that's simple to use, great sounding and affordable?
