Hi,
I have the exact same amp as you and its now the subject of this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=58531

Basically in my amp Fender have dropped the opto circuit and installed a 2nd PCB with ICs to control the Tremolo - do you know if that is how your one is setup inside?
Also my one does have a little cage thing around the Power tubes as well.

It seems like they are taking advantage of their right to alter specs as they like.
On the other hand when its working it really is an awesome tone isnt it! - Congrats.

this might sound a little weird, does your amp seem like its missing some volume?
ill be alright with it if the fsr amp actually is like that due to the speaker, if not, so i can send it back.

fyi, i cranked it to 10 and the guitar cranked to 10, it was pretty loud but not very very loud...

Tremolo channel speed knob, has difficulty turning and
Wobbly.
Not loose wobbly but as if the shaft of that tone pot is damaged
Either on assembly or shipping.
Perhaps that may explain the situation with my amp,
Darn, may have to take a trip to the fed ex distribution
Center.

If the volume difference is huge then something might not be right... have you checked the bias or swapped power tubes yet? Try that before you take it back. Use the tubes from your other DRRI.

Keep us posted.

Lighter? Interesting... you'd think the Alnico is heavier. Must be that special color

Just checked the weight... you're right! The P12Q is 5.5 lbs lighter!

Coming back to the weight issue, 5.5 lbs doesn't really sound
Like alot, but it feels like a huge difference when your carrying
It a few more feet, or a couple flight of stairs.
I would say it weighed in somewhere along the lines of
A blues jr, just a little heavier.

Not missing volume on Normal channel its just the Tremolo seems to have wrecked the volume on the Trem channel. I think its great the shop is swapping it over for a new one, my one has been in the menders for a month and still not fixed yet. The amp guy only works one day a week. Anyhow all the best - let us know what its like when the replacement arrives !

So it's something in the tremolo circuitry? What happened
To yours?

I experienced the same thing in my DRRI when I was testing different 15" speakers... weight difference was 6-12 lbs depending on what speaker was in the amp. The EV SRO was the heaviest and at the end of the night the amp was way to heavy to load in the car!

So it looks like it's speaker related. You can try swapping speakers between the two amps to see if that's true.

Yes, it seems either all new DRRIs or new LimEdition DRRIs (can't tell which) have had the standard Tremolo opti-circuit-thing replaced by a 2nd PCB to control the on/off signal to the Tube. Currently my amp is at the shop being repaired under warranty and they think its this new PCB that has gone wrong and so cuts the volume on channel 2 down to a whisper. I dont know how long its going to take them to fix it as its the first one like this they have seen.

Interesting! My Standard DRRI is new, also has that cage around the power tubes, but I'm not experiencing any volume drop. If it happens to mine, I will NOT be pleased. Could mine have the older circuit?? I sure hope they get their story together & get your amps fixed. Sounds like a real PITA.
