Post subject: Vibrochamp xd problem please help.

Was playing a little tonight and out of no where I heard a small "pop" and then had no sound from the amp. jewel light is still on but nothing. Checked and change fuse and tube. Still nada. just bought this in february but not sure if i sent in the warranty form or not. Any ideas????

You don't need to send in the warranty form. All you need is the original sales receipt.

If the power tubes are still glowing, just change out the 12AX7 tube (which is probably still glowing too). Cost @ $10. You're welcome.

My VCXD "popped", also. Pretty much the same symtoms - I could barely hear anything and then I got no sound at all out of it. Tubes and jewel were still lit. I replaced the power tube because that's what everyone thought it was. That wasn't the problem. Took it to a Fender authorized repair shop. Turned out to be a bad board that couldn't be fixed. Fender gave me a new VCXD! Got it in about two weeks.

They should have! :wink: Most of the lower end amps are usually replaced. They did that with my first GDec. I think it's just cheaper for them. I would still check the power tube. In about 90% percent of the cases it's just a faulty tube unless it's a tube short that takes out some other component.
