Could a new speaker help tighten up bass? I have a Fender Blues Deluxe and I love everything about this amp except for the flubby soft bass.

When I play a power chord on the 6th, 5th, and 4th strings, I don't get a nice tight distorted tone with my pedals. (OCD and AC Booster)

Do you guys think this could be fixed with a speaker change, or is this just a byproduct of the amp?

What are your tone settings? On my BDRI I have Treble = 6, Mid = 4, Bass = 3, and Presence = 8. Nice tight, solid bass. I am, however, replacing the stock speaker with an Eminence Cannibus Rex. Not because of any problem, but just cuz they are reported to have a nice smooth tone and I had the cash. :D

The Celestion AlNiCo Gold will make your amp sound much better if you like traditional Fender tones or if you want it louder with a tighter midrange and a little more bite in your dirty tones you can go with the Celestion Vintage 30. Either speaker will rid your amp of it's flabbiness and farting.

You can also call up Weber and get their recommendation. (765) 452-1249

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I usually have the bass around 3-4, Mid on 5-6 and Treble left or right of 6 depending on the situation. Of course, I do generally keep the presence low, maybe 3ish.

Maybe it is my Overdrives. I am stacking an AC Booster and OCD, so maybe that is contributing to the flubby bass. If I get a speaker it will either be a Vintage 30 or an Eminence GB128 Greenback clone.

These options would be my recommendation as well.

Weber 12F150 did exactly that for me, generally more clarity too :)
