Where's the bias point on these beasts

First, heed the others advice, beware of the lethal voltages in the amp, even with power off and amp unplugged. With the amp off and unplugged, the power supply caps can still hold a charge and must be discharged before proceeding.

Do you have a meter (VOM) and know how to use it?

It is true that your amp does not have a bias adjustment pot, this is why I suspect that the "tech" didn't readjust the bias with your new tubes.

The gentleman seated upon the Leslie cabinet playing the 335 in this photo does not seem to share that view......

I'm not certain but I believe he is a guitarist of *some* notoriety.

I agree, with my "reverb-less" amps there's enough resonance in the cabinets to satisfy my taste.
But I'm still gonna find a nice 6G15 someday to add some seasoning. :D

Well yes please!
However even gigging 2 or 3 times a week like I do won't get me near to one of those, after bills have been paid!

I've never gigged with a back up amp in the last 20 years but never leave home without my little sessionette now. I think you are right about moving it on. It just the only thing I am likely to be able to afford is a newer twin amp. Had one of those before, nice enough but not quite what I was after.

You should be able to sell that USA made Deville for $500-600, a nice early 70s Silverface SR can be found for around $800 or less. Way better amp, tone to die for and very reliable!

Here's what a 73 SR sounds like, nothing but a Strat plugged in. Cost = $800.

Screw that, then.

How about a JTM45 Bluesbreaker instead?

They sound great and should be readily available across the puddle.

Been there got the t shirt! Beautiful amps but not clean enough at volume. Best valve overdrive I've ever heRd though. I play in a function band now so need to be jack of all trades! Hence the move back to fender
