hey all,

just bought a frontman 25r, and love it.

By itself it is great, both clean and drive channels, but when i plug in pedals i have used with my (please don't laugh) marshallg10, they too harsh.

I have a digitech screamin blues pedal, and a cool cat metal pedal. My question is, do some pedals work better with the frontman? Probably a silly question. I am looking for a good rock distortion for alter bridge, rush, led zep, etc. I'm trying to get any one persons tone, but a good all round rock tone.

less than $100 would be good. Any help would be appreciated

I had similar experiences years ago with a Fender Sidekick Switcher -- certain pedals that otherwise sounded great with my tube rigs made the Sidekick sound like metallic grit. I'm doubtful it's your Frontman 25's fault -- more a routine phenomenon typical of IC-driven pre-amps and cheaply-designed op-amps. You might try some alternative pedal brands to determine if one will better suit both your amp and your playing preferences.
