any suggestions to get some more bottom end howl. with the stock speaker/tubes I gotta crank the bass to even get close but still not enough. I'm not talking heavy metal just a good crunch with pulsating bottom feedback ala Hendrix. when I use my Peavey 4x12 with 2 Eminence Governors and 2 stock Shelfields it is perfect. But I don't want to haul a 4x12 around all the time.

You can only get so much bass out of a single 12" speaker. Sounds like your getting all it can give. To move more air you will need multiple speakers or one larger speaker.

yes I have had many other amps including a 50 watt peavy valveking with a single 12" and that had more balls/resonance. I'm thinking of an Eminence Wizard or Govenor speaker.

Perhaps you should've kept the Valveking......

I had 2 speakers upgrades that helped with the low end in that amp. After proper tube changes and bias adjustments of course.

1. WGS ET65 - warm yet sparkly...celestion-like with better tone than a V30
2. Jensen Jet Tornado Neo - more hi-fi with a flatter freq response

Ultimately after 3 years, I'm selling the Super-Sonic. I really like the amp and concept but the tones were just slightly off for me on each channel no matter what I did. I also found a nice bottom end by running an extra Bogner 1x12 loaded with an EVM12L but that defeated the portability of a 112 combo for me.

I never had any problems getting enough bass out of my 60W SS when I owned it. But here's some speaker comparison demos... the V30 is in there... find one with more bass:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPPMiZeY ... re=related

I used these demos to choose an Eminence Canis Major for my current amp, and couldn't be happier... the video demos seem to be very representative of how these speakers sound in relation to each other, so you can listen to the V30 in the demo, then find one with a tone you like better.

Apart from the fact that it's only one speaker, I think it has something to do with the open back too.

The Supersonic head with its bass-reflex 2 x 12 enclosure will likely deliver more bottom-end beef.
