I have used fender heavys for years. The 351 classic shell. I bought a gross which I believe is 6 doz. about 2 years ago. I am now in need of more but I seem to have trouble finding them. They came in the big clear plastic box. I recently bought some 351's at a guitar center but in the little plastic bags with a dozen of them.

The picks are different than the ones I bought by the gross. The are ever so slightly larger but still considered 351's and the color is not as deep. I'm talking the brown tortoise shell type. They are different. The older ones I bought are smoother around the edges for a warmer sound and like I said slightly smaller than the new ones I bought. Not smaller by much but it does make a difference to me.

How can I find the originals that I bought 2 years ago?

That might be a tough one, Bob.

I too use the extra heavy 351C's in tortoise and I never see them for sale as "bulk-pack" -- only priced individually and stocked in small quantities (if at all). Thankfully, I don't blow through them too quickly.

I'm an Xtra Heavy pick guy too, still grind the point off in one day of playing.
The Dunlop with the rhino on them in 1.14 though not as heavy as fener Xtra Hvy are pretty close and last a bit longer, nice feel and sound too.

One nice thing about our moment in time is that we have a ton of pick choices.

Years ago I switched t fender Heavies, but then I bought some new ones, and they chipped, and wore down more quickly--over the years--for a variety of reasons the materials used might change--you may not be able to get older ones.

Here's on of my old fender Heavy picks--well used--along with a Herco Flex 75--it was well used, and the new ones aren't the same as the old ones either.

I use the white 351 heavys and they don,t last very long, they round off pretty fast but I still like them. I never was that picky but ive used these the longest.

Found the same problem. Large quantities used to be easy to get.

BTW 1 gross = 144 or 12 dozen.
