1 - Check your ground connection on the wall AC.
2 - Start swapping tubes, buy some cheap but good 12AX7 to see if it makes a difference. I would recommend you TungSol 12AX7.

You get "good" tubes or you get "cheap" tubes.

Only seldomly do those parameters ever intersect.

Make it simply: noise (as white noise) can be caused by a valve (but also by a lot of other components). Change valve V1 by a 12ax7 reputed good one. For power valves, I never experienced noise, but I don't know. If you don't find the rootcause, I recommand to contact a good tech because this amp integrates signal processing circuits.

Ok. Thanks! But what brand of tube would you suggest?
tungsol, sovtek, JJ? Which is the best?

There is no best one (excepted telefunken ECC83 - joking  ), just your ear is the judge. JJ is a good choice, GT also, I've almost 10 different brands, today I use 2 SPAX7 Mesaboogie as V1 and 2 and a 12ax7 "balanced JJ" for PI, Sovteck for power on my BDlx.

I replaced all tubes to tungsol 12AX7 and JJ 6v6..

There was a diode burnt, that was replaced also. And the great sound got back. .

I think the sound became cleaner and powerfull as a whole...

SCXD is a great amp.... Do you agree folks? :-)

What do I have to do and avoid to keep SCXD with this great sound?

Carry the amp carefully is a must. But, for instance, do I need to avoid some pedals with high output (consequently with high input in the amp), like some distortions pedals?

Thanks a lot,

ARnor
