Hi Folks,
I have a brand new Frontman 212R and am really very happy with the sounds produced. However after about 20 minutes of use I get a lot of crackle and noise from the amp. Comes and goes. The problem is defintely not my axe or leads because I can unplug my guitar completely and can still create the crackle sound but rocking the amp.

I live in the country so its a major hassle for me to take the amp back to where I purchased it from to request repairs......and if I do this no doubt reapirs will take months.

Has anyone had a similar problem and possibly know a fix?

Even if it is painfull, it is preferable to bring back to the dealer in order to repair it properly under warranty.

ive had quite a few problems with the FM212R sounds like you just have a loose joint somewhere, try unplugging and then re plugging the speaker cables onto the speakers, i had a monitor that did the same thing and it was caused by slight corrosion on the speaker plug... if that dosnt work (it is a solid state amp so there isnt much that can go wrong but when something does its normally a chip or a diode that is blown or has a loose contact which means you wont see it) take a look in the actual amp chassis, unto the 4 screws on the top of the amp and the 2 on the side, a gentle downward pull will drop the chassis, and have a look for any loose wires or dry joints...

a problem i had on one of mine was that the drive and more drive would short out and cause it to change randomly and cause this horrible almost tremello drive sound with a lot of crackeling... when you rock the amp around do u notice any of the LED's changing?

if none of this works then you havnt got much choice but to take it back to the dealer...

peace out!
