I've got a SCXD, and recently I've noticed that when I play a G note (3rd fret) on the 6th string, I get an unexpected sound out of the SCXD. It's a bit hard to describe, but it's almost like a "buzz" or "tick" sound -- not as much a "farty" sound. It only happens when I play that low G.

I think I'm getting some sort of resonating effect on the bottom back panel, because I can slightly move that panel and it makes a similar sound. I'll probably just try to take that panel off and see if it resolves it, but wondering if anyone had run into this?

Other thoughts on troubleshooting?

Thanks in advance,

Ashley

The only thing I can think of is you might have loose screws on the back panel and when you hit that frequency it causes a mode which causes the screw to pop. I have an SCXD and no issues with it so that would be about the only thing I can say.
ABS :D

It could be any of the fasteners used to assemble the amp -- the screws used to anchor the components to the chassis innards, those that hold the chassis to the cabinet, the fasteners that affix the speaker to the baffle board, or those that keep the baffle board snug to the front of the enclosure. Check them all and snug down those that are discovered to be loose (do not over-tighten them though, especially speaker-mounting screws).
