Hi madeira79,

Possibly bad solder joint(s), or broken circuit trace(s), around the 5 watt resistors in the power supply (+/- 16V). The main board has to be removed to access the joints. I would go over all solder joints throughout the amp while the board is out. Of course, unplug the amp, discharge the caps, before repair.

when i first got my peavey, i thought the drive channel was broken because everytime i would hit the channel select on the *amp* the sound wouldn't change at all... turns out i forgot about the footswitch sitting, plugged in, in the back of the cabinet, which *also* has a channel select, which was set to clean aswell... haha, i almost returned the amp, then i realized what was going on XD > the footswitch lets me toggle between clean and drive, only when i am in the drive channel on the amp... hahaha

+1

It could be something as simple as unfamiliarity with the HRD's footswitch operation that's responsible for these symptoms. If the switch is plugged into the amp, its switches will take precedence over those on the amp's control panel. The dead pilot lamp is likely unrelated to the situation.
