Life is too good to be killed by a tube amp. But Fender does zip all the wires together on the ProJr, and I would like to organize it, as this guy did:

How can I manage to do this without getting electroshocked ? If I leave the amplifier OFF for about 24 Hours is enough ? Where should I never touch ? I don´t know how to discharge the caps and stuff, so I would like if there´s another safe way to organize that wiring.

Thanks.

First, I'd get a 5 watt, 150-250 ohm "sandbox" resistor. Put about 4-6 inch length 20 gauge wire on each end. Solder medium sized alligator clips (with insulator covers) onto the ends of the wires. This is your drain line.

Turn off & unplug amp. Connect one line the to (+) end of one of those big Ruby Gold caps lying horizontal. Clip the other end to the chassis. If the amp has a standby switch, make sure it is in the "on" position---so that all caps are drained.

Leave drain line connected while doing work. But, be sure to remove it before buttoning up the amp and restating it.

Keep the drain line, for any future internal fix-it needs.

Good luck!

I´ve got a tech made me a patch cable with 2 clip sides and a 15K 1W resistor between. I think that will work to discharge the caps connecting one side to the + of the cap and the other to ground right ?
