Well, I finally did it. I picked up a D130F off of EBay and just finished installing it in my 64 Vibroverb Custom. I just worked up my first sweat with the Strat plugged in. I'm not really very good in describing sound quality particulars, but the verdict is in. WOW! The overall tone is noticably clearer, and it just sounds much better. If there is anyone out there with a Vibroverb and is on the fence with this, take the leap and install one of these tone monsters. You will not be disappointed! Cheers.

There are only two kinds of people......

Those who swear by D130Fs, and those who have never heard a D130F.

Congrats on making that leap of faith, Strat Cat!

RAWK ON!

'thought the circuit was something like a 6G16 - or some such thing :?: :?: :?:

Was the '64 with the 15" a different circuit?
(just asking - I don't know ... )

Sorry for the misunderstanding, OF.

Reb has a penchant for brownfaces -- ergo my reference to the 1 x 15 6G5 Pro Amp. The 2 x 10 brownface Vibroverb is indeed the 6G16.

The 1 x 15 blackface Vibroverb of '64 debuted the first of the AA763 circuits (along with the rest of the then-new blackface line).
