Hey I like the Frontman 212R, but I think its too big/loud for my small practice room (about 12 x 12). And maybe I should get a Mustang II or Frontman 25R. What do you think? Also, I'm looking to play some clean, but also some Led Zeppelin/ AC/DC Judas Priest, you think this amp's drive or more drive would be good for that?

Maybe you just need a bigger house......

My music room is about the same size and when practicing alone or figuring out song arrangements I usually use a 12-watt Princeton or Princeton Reverb amp, sometimes a 6-watt Vibro Champ. I prefer to keep the sheetrock on the walls.

For home playing I am really digging the Champion 600. It has a great clean tone and its built really well. Don't let the little size fool you, it can sound pretty loud. Put a dirt box in front to get your Priest and Ac/Dc sounds. Just a great little amp, and I'm looking forward to recording with it. Stock, the sound I am getting reminds me very much of Midnight Rambler, Rolling Stones. Those chimey highs really come through when the amp is "cranked" and you back off the guitar volume a just a little.

Uh, yeah.... The Frontman 212 is a MONSTER! 100 watt, 2 x 12's, solid state, etc... I can't imagine using it as a home practice amp!

I have the Frontman 65 and even it is a bit too loud for my livingroom! I have the main volume on "2" and my Strat's volume backed off to about "8". With that setting, it sounds good and the neighbors don't complain.

I have the 212R and it really is a bit much for practicing at home. But I like the amp just the same. I also have a Stage 160DSP and it's also very loud. Tough getting reasonable sound at low volume levels. I also have a 25R and it is perfect for practicing at home. It also has an headphone jack. That headphone jack sure is helpful at times. Another amp I practice with is one of my 3 15R/15G/15DSP amps. These are fine but lack something. Not sure what, can't put a finger on it but I just like the 25R best. Not that one of those 15 models is bad. Not at all. They are fun to play around with. Best of all, new 25R's are only $99 right now at many locations.

+1

I'd like to see that feature included on all amps fifteen watts or less.
