Nice!
I have played through my Fender Super-Champ 112 with Celestion G12P-80 before...and it really "fatten's" the sound up with the 12" speaker and closed back. It'd be nice if a guy could plug an extension cabinet in and leave the built in speaker plugged in as well.

Yeah, lots of info in this thread and some of others who have done that mod.

Hello everyone! I'm a new Pro Junior owner, and bought one a few months ago online that was used. Because of my work schedule, I'm just now getting around to using it and figuring out what all it can do. So far, it's been a fantastic purchase.

So this may sound like a rookie question, but I got curious as to when my amp was made, and opened up the back to try and find the sticker that had that information. The thing is, I'm not sure which letters I'm supposed to use  Here's a picture of the sticker. It looks like it says K I, but it's hard to tell if that's what I should be looking at.

Thanks! https://imgur.com/3M3U2NO

drummerboyjac....that is the 'Quality Control' sticker with the name of the person that tested the amp.
You don't need to "open up" the amp to find the serial number. There is a plate (in the open) or atleast there is supposed to be any way; riveted on the back of the amp. Top right corner of the plate should be a sticker with the serial number. However; I'm not sure you can date the amp using the serial number...mine starts with B-7, so the only thing that would make sense to me is if that '7' stands for 2017 (which is the year I did buy it).

I found this on the web, not so sure it's correct but it IS incomplete:

Fender started using a date code again in 1990 that was very similar to the one used in the 1960s and 70s. The code is located on the black and silver sticker on the back of the amp. Among all the lines/numbers on this sticker, the last two letters indicate the date -the first letter indicating the year and the second letter indicating the month. Here is a chart for these amplifiers-
A -1990/January
B -1991/February
C -1992/March
D -1993/April
E -1994/May
F -1995/June
G -1996/July
H -1997/August
I -1998/September
J -1999/October
K -2000/November
L -2001/December
M -2002
N -2003
O -2004
P -2005
Q -2006
R -2007
S -2008

Yah; sorry to say...none of that makes any sense when looking at my Blues Junior that I'm sure is between 1999 and 2002.
Why do I think this? Because I bought it from a friend who got it from a guy he works with...the guy told him he bought it new in 1999. HOWEVER; if I am to believe that the first number or last number has anything to do with the 'Year' the amp was manufactured...it would either be 2002 (2 is the first number in the series of numbers) or 2001 (1 is the last number in the series of numbers).
I CAN believe that the 'Letter' that the serial number begins with could be the month...mine is "B", so it MAY be February of 1999 (if we believe my buddy's co-worker), February of 2002 if we're going by the first number following the letter, or February of 2001 if we are going by the last number in the series.

I haven't bothered to check into this myself...and when I registered it on Fender's web site a manufacturing year didn't pop up like on newer products. That "formula" I posted above is just my thoughts---I could be (and probably am) WAY off....it's just a thought that makes some sense to me because it is not impossible that the amp was manufactured between '99 & '02.

And though I didn't purchase my Pro Junior III until late 2017, my above formula could apply to it as well; because it also starts with a 'B' (for February?) and has '7' & '5' as it's first and last numbers. The Pro Junior III Series was announced on September 9, 2010...so the amp could easily have been manufactured in 2017 (when I actually bought it in December), or may have sat in a warehouse somewhere for two years and was manufactured in 2015. I have no idea.

Thanks for the link Mike! So it IS on the Quality Assurance sticker:
Quote:
All Fender amplifiers manufactured from 1990 to the present include a date code, printed on the quality assurance (QA) sticker on the back of the amp chassis. This black-and-silver sticker contains several lines for “sign-offs” on completion of sound and electrical testing. The final line contains a date code of two printed or handwritten letters denoting the amplifier’s production date by year (the first letter) and month (the second letter).

Sweet!
I haven't played through my Pro Junior in quite some time.
I guess I can blame it on two opposites---1). Been pretty busy working on and around my house in the good season upgrading things (mostly garage, carport, and landscaping) and spending time outdoors before Iowa's brutal winter forces me indoors. And 2). Being lazy; because ever since I traded my Mustang IV for my Power Chorus (red knob), the Power Chorus has been plugged in between my work bench, and control desk awaiting a new grill cloth and Fender Logo (which I have, just haven't installed yet). It's just too easy the switch it on and play a bit right where I spend most of my time in the Studio.
I'll definitely have plenty time to get back to all of my amps this winter.

I used my Pro Jr last night but had it going through a twin 10" cabinet. No pedals
but nice natural breakup at about 5-6.

I just recently disconnected my Pro Junior from my pedal board (had it A/B'd with my Blues Junior) and currently playing straight through it again myself.
The Pro Junior takes pedals well...but there's just something about the natural sound from the amp alone, and covering cleans & distortion solely through the volume knob on my guitar. It was the sound I fell in love with right away after purchasing the amp; and now that I've experimented with different pedals, I like it direct hook guitar to amp.
IF I do decide to run pedals through it again...I'll stick with Chorus and Delay only.
