Ebay, search "230-110V step down", that should find you a decent enough step-down converter/transformer....they are a LOT cheaper now than they were a few years ago. It's no big deal.

Nothing too strong, around 100-500W would cover your needs....make sure you buy one that has three prong grounded power (no two prong inlets, or outlet cable, MUST both be three prong).

I think about:

It would be good for me?

I have the option of either 300 or 400 watts.

You could prolly operate two Pro Jr's on that step-up tranny and have "change" left over.

Absolutely, that's a huge transformer, I'd have gone for around 150W, much cheaper and would easily handle the job....but the above one will do the job no troubles...

Some measure of reserve capacity is always desirable. With that tranny, there will be ample power.

For sure, but with that monster of a transformer, you could hop from the Pro Jr to one of the '80's mega watt wars' amps (and probably keep the Pro Jr plugged in), lots of reserve there!! But that's a good thing, you're right about that mate!!

It's funny, only a few years ago a transformer like the above one was worth about 3 times what they are now, ebay has done that... (that weird place we all hate to love).

P.S. Arjay, pics of that Bandmaster coming soon :P

Here's what I ended up doing to my old Pro Jr by the way...... I kind of went over the top with it, bigger cab, Jensen P12N, handwired with full sized pots, Switchcraft input jack, NFL switch (there's a H3 choke out back too, all Mercury Magnetics), sounds killer (and no, I'd never do it again, it was a nightmare to be honest, tiny chassis makes for extra noise, I had help too, it was complex)....2 more shots to come..

Oh really powerful, the circuit itself is a great design, it sends those EL84's into great overdrive. There's JJ's in the images, but I put a set of Telefunken EL84's in there (that and a nice old RCA in V1, US Tung Sol long plate 12AX7 in V2) and WOW!! If I switch of the NFL the amp goes into overdrive in a heavy, but smooth way too, turned out great in the end...but was truly a nightmare to build....

It looks like real boutique quality throughout.
