If you love your Pro Jr and want to discuss mods, models, post pics, etc. - - then sign in here and let's discuss what everyone's doing with their PJs. (of course, you probably have/use other amps too, but let's keep this topic for the PJs only).

Mine is the first version I guess, with the tweed look...I love the amp, it has a different tone compared with the rest of my amps, which is why I like it. Another tonal flavor. Mine is all stock...except when I unplug the speaker and run it through the 66 Bassman Cab...it becomes a whole different amp then...

Is that a vintage Silvertone 'twin twelve' over on the right side?

Yes and it is and it is loaded with two Vintage Jensen C12Q's that have not been played since 68! I got it from a buddy who bought it new in 68 and promptly blew the solid state amp head that came with it. He tossed the head and put the cabinet away. His mother made a cover for it and it sat in his closet at her house until he retired from the AF in Germany where I met him 20 odd years ago and he gave it to me about 15 years ago and it has been sitting in my guitar room pretty much untouched except for its odd use with my 64 princeton from time to time. I love the sound of those speakers...

...FWIW

Hi Guys

New to this part of the forum. I have just got hold of a used made in usa, Tweed Pro Junior.

Image

The chasis code is EF which i believe makes it July 1995 and has the stock tubes in it 2-EL84 / 2-12AX7. It has been unused for the last three years at least.

The first thing I wish to do with it is to change out the tubes and was hoping some of you kind pro junior users may be able to suggest some replacement tubes. A friend of mine told me that the JJ Tesla tubes are a good starting point and that have to be matched anyone got any other ideas?

I use Tele's mostly but do have some Strats, a Riki 360 and a Casino.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Here is mine. All stock with original tubes. Still sounding great too. I like this little amp a lot. I actually found this in a local mom and pop music store tucked in the way back among new and used amps. Not a bad find for under $100!

Anyway, enough from me...here is your amp porn:
