I also like my 1985 Peavey bandit 65. It does sound pretty good and it does well with pedals and it is very reliable. However it does not sound anywhere near as good as a Fender black face amp. I'm 58 yeares old but I remember when I was growing up I liked the sounds of a few of my friends rigs. This is what they had
Fender Jazzmaster with a Deluxe Reverb - sweet sounding rig
Fender Strat with Twin Reverb - clean sounding rig
Fender Telecaster with Bandmaster - lots of twang.

I can't wait to get me a deluxe reverb to go with my 1989 Strat Plus

That sounds like a great pairing, DB!

The Bandit is a pretty good amp in its own right, as both Rivera and Flieger have publically admitted in interviews -- it's the amp that hastened to force Fender's hand in developing small full-featured combos at an affordable price point. Running a Bandit in tandem with a DRRI could yield some interesting (and pleasing) effects.

Arjay

In all the years I've been playing, I've only seen one Bandit take a dump on stage. The Bandit was one of the hottest selling amps for a while. I thought they sounded great.

who are you and what the heck have you done with arjay???

im gonna have to agree with our imposter here. im a huge 80's bandit fan.
one of the best amps ever built period. i still have mine after all these yrs.
back then peavey made probably the most indestructable amps ever made.
you cant go wrong with a peavey from the late 70's- the 80's.
until very recently the bandit was my go to amp of choice.

For what it is, the Bandit is a good amp.

But it is not a Fender!

Happy?

i havent had the chance to play any of peavy's newer stuff. im a 80's peavy fan as you know lol. i was at a store the other day. the shop owner lady was cursing peavey out.
she said she was having a heck of a time. said folks kept bring back their amps for warranty work on them. freshly sold amps too. she didnt go into details. was complaining about having to drive 70 miles to drop off a amp for the closest warranty repair guy though. beats me on what the issues are.

Could be the newer chinese models. I have a USA Transtube Studio Pro and it is an absolute workhorse.
